This week TechCrunch posted a screenshot of a white iPhone, captured from Apple’s German website where it appeared briefly (less than 20 minutes). The image resulted in a frenzy of speculation that the release of the Great White iPhone is imminent.
The image grab comes just days after AppleInsider reported on Apple’s partnering with a Japanese company to develop a white paint that allows for greater control and precision of the white layer being applied to handsets. Using earlier painting methods, Apple’s attempts to manufacture the white iPhone 4 were said to have resulted in a “huge” number of defective handsets. The percentage was said to be so high that Apple simply could not proceed with the manufacturing of the white iPhone 4 until a solution was produced.
We know the news has sent Fanboys and Fangirls into a tizzy – but what do you think?

So long Turquoise 15-5519, it’s Honeysuckle’s turn to shine.
Officially known as Pantone 18-2120 TCX, Honeysuckle has just been named the IT color for 2011. Pantone describes it as “Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.”
They go on to attribute some pretty heady powers to the shade, “Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.”
So what do you think?

Some of the clocks we cover on DesignCrave are weird, some are bizzare, many are funny, but none are quite similar to the QLOCKTWO wall clock which literally spells the time out for you. Handcrafted in Germany by Biergert & Funk, this unique timepiece charms with its unique manner of telling time. The front is made of Acrylic glass with polished edges and LEDs, and the body is crafted in wood with four layers of lack. But under the whole case, as you’d expect, there’s plenty of technology.

There aren’t that many multi-function kitchen gadgets that perform all that well (think Spork), and this Uni-tool doesn’t look any different. But if you have a hankering to flip and sear your Ahi, cut it with a dull plastic knife, throw a little icing on your filet and serve a side of veggies all with one utensil, then this Graeme Davies/Joseph Joseph design is for you. The Uni-tool is composed of heat-resistant nylon good up to 240 Celsius and combines a spatula, flipper, knife, slotted spoon and ladle. Of course, if you’re making any kind of actual meal, you’ll probably need several of those tools at once. So you can either order yourself a whole set of Uni-tools or throw the one that your best friend pressured you to buy into a dark corner of the bottom drawer while reinstating all the superior stand-alones.
