It’s Opening Day week for Major League Baseball and one ballpark is ready to reveal a much talked about “work of art”, not enough sports design for you? The NFL introduced the newly redesigned Nike football uniforms. We’ve got the scoop on sports related design and more in this week’s link roundup.
Florida Marlins amp up the Kitsch: Opening day at the the stadium marked the unveiling of a tropical-colored, 71-foot tall sculpture behind the center-field wall that comes to life whenever the Marlins hit a home run. Lights swirl and flash, marlins dive and leap, seagulls fly, an orange-and-yellow sun illuminates, water splashes and pink flamingos under lush palm trees stand in the middle of it all.
