It’s that time of the year again, a slight chill in the air and thoughts immediately turn to cold weather footwear. While you may get a few more weeks (or months depending on where you live) out of your short skirts and sleeveless tops, now is the time to switch over to boots and shoes designed for cooler temperatures. We’ve pulled our favorite trends for 2011 to help guide you in your quest for the perfect footwear to round out 2011
5. Patent Leather
The shiny, slick surface of patent leather ads a dressy yet naughty air to pumps and boots. While black is always a favorite, this year forward thinking designers are using color blocked patent leather in bold contrasting combos to take the style quotient up a notch.

4. Corseted Footwear
We see the rise of domineering footwear directly influenced from the constricting bodices that were all over the Fall 2011 runways. Laced up boots and booties are great way to add a bit of edge to your outfit.

3. The Wedge Heel
The wedge continues to dominate the trend in heel style. Comfortable and fashion forward, this trend is great bet to take you into 2012

2. Buckles
Similar to the restraining trend of lace-up, buckles are also big this fall. While they may take a bit of extra time getting into and out of the chic look is worth it.

1. The Flat Heeled Boot
Comfortable and stylish, these boots look great paired with skirts or tucked in jeans. The low heel also makes it easier to navigate the sometimes treacherous slippery, snowy fall and winter terrain.
