By Diana Cook
Swinging London is amidst Design Festival 2010 and with it comes the Victoria & Albert Museum Illustration Awards. Held annually to highlight the best literary illustrations published in the UK the previous year, my favorite, the Editorial Illustration Award, celebrates the top newspaper, magazine and comic renderings.
While the winner has been announced, I’ve gathered 25 images of my favorite contenders (including the winner), after viewing check out the V&A website to see if you are on the same page as the judges.

Not only are the judges on a different page than I am, they are also looking in the wrong magazine!
From the description of the winning image: They also commented on the powerful dynamics and unusual use of poetic imagery for an illustration found within a scientific journal.Do they really think that the New Scientist is a scientific journal?? Sad.
