As someone who is always interested in fresh design and themes, I am really intrigued by FLUXX, the latest player in San Diego’s burgeoning nightclub scene.  True to its name, the mood and motif at FLUXX will be kept in a constant state of well, flux, with regular shifts in theme and style designed to create a unique experience with every visit.

These periodic transformations will be full-scale collaborative art installations drawing inspiration from popular culture.  Anna Sindelar at FLUXX distills these decorative, performance, and costume ideas from the FLUXX team in collaboration with husband David of ARCHISECTS and other local artists into installations that cover the walls, the ceiling, and even the Go-Go dancers. Each theme gives rise to one-of-a-kind garments, interactive architecture and original art pieces featured in the front window.

FLUXX’s interior, courtesy of the creative minds at Davis Ink, reinforces the power of sensory experience.  The moss covered ceiling and circular recessed cut outs in the floor that house a feature inspired by modern rock gardens, to the backlit acrylic marble and miniature wood logs interspersed amongst the whimsical art installations create a modern, organic space meant for exploration and fun.
