Here we have Mak Bistro in Budapest, which recently opened in District V. That’s downtown Budapest should you be reading this while wandering around Hungary. One can only hope the small plate menu is as a top shelf as the interior design. Designfocus kept their focus simple and contemporary for the project, dressing the traditional structure with stone, glass and old wooden surfaces.
There’s a nice, hip-bohemian feel to Mak’s interior, with its large display case of empty wine bottles to offset the rough brick walls and barrel vaults. The traditional components of the design can be seen in the addition of Thonet chairs, early style basins, steel trimmings and a transparent wine cooler. The family orientated square is designed in such a manner to show the inherent materials that bring out artistic value and style. [via coolboom]
