Concrete House By A-cero
By Jeffrey Hyatt
No idea why, but I have this sound in my head of Christopher Walken saying, “It’s a house… it’s made of…. concrete. It’s a… concrete house.” Anyway, there is a rather spectacular concrete house in Madrid, designed by Spanish architectural firm A-cero. And the ground floor features a gymnasium and wine vault. Not together, of course, though that’s not a bad idea.
The house looks a smidgen overly-antiseptic, but no less impressive; the gray color of the concrete stands out, and the huge windows make it easy to enjoy the beautiful, 1,500 sq m residential property. Exterior and interior spaces are merged through several patios to create bright and open spaces for everyday living. The white walls and clean decorations in these patio areas contrast with the dark wood the house’s grounds. [via contemporist]
