Mozzarella Chair By Tatsuo Yamamoto
By Jeffrey Hyatt
Friday’s Corvo Chair post was so creatively fulfilling that I’ve decided to devote a bulk of this week’s design excellence to chairs, chairs and more chairs. And we kick-off unofficial chair week with the Mozzarella Chair by Japanese designer Tatsuo Yamamoto.
Designed to look like, well… a block of mozzarella cheese, the Mozzarella Chair consists of woven fabric stretched over a 2mm thick stainless steel frame; it might be hard to tell in the photo, but the texture of the chair is smooth and soft, a large cushion is positioned between the bent, steel frame.
