I’m slowly but surely becoming more comfortable with the sport of cricket; to commemorate my not being totally clueless here we have the famous Brit Oval, home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club. A few years back Populous was involved with a redevelopment project – notably, the four-tier grandstand known as the OCS Stand.

Geometrically bold with futuristic curves in white steel, the stylish OCS Stand is truly iconic, blending nicely with the Victorian appearance of the Pavilion. The sweeping form of the new roof has been composed to act as a foil to the gasometers which have historically formed the backdrop at this end. A further feature of the redevelopment is the 600 foot ‘Living Wall’, which will support a variety of climbing plants adding to the summer ambiance of the external concourse, bringing the seasons into the urban fabric of the area.
