Emu Bay House By Max Pritchard

I’ve had “Home by the Sea” by Genesis playing in a loop for the last twenty minutes to accompany me while I inspect this lovely, ocean view home (‘by the sea’) located in Emu Bay, South Australia. Australian architect Max Pritchard designed the house with the gorgeous, panoramic sea views; wind protection was a vital design feature for this particular, modern home.

The living area features this great, floating roof, which anchors the summer house. The Timber decked terraces on either side of the living area provide outdoor seating options for different wind directions. The sheltered rear courtyard, framed by the building, large water tanks and timber screens focuses on a wood fired pizza oven. Pizza oven? Say no more. This is the home by the sea for me.
