The Meyerhoffer Surfboards
By Jeffrey Hyatt
What started as an experiment has definitely shaken up the art of surfboard design. Thomas Meyerhoffer, well-known for all sorts of innovative product designs, has tied together industrial design with his passion for surfing. The result is a radical spin on the classic longboard.
A hybrid of a longboard and a shortboard, the hourglass- shaped Meyerhoffer taps the three, main features of longboarding – turn, glide and nose riding – and pushes it to the next level. The shape of the board has been designed to offer the surfer a board that is faster, maneuvers better and delivers a higher level of surf experience. All boards are constructed in SLX to ensure maximum responsiveness. The boards are glassed with white tinted epoxy resin then topped off with a gloss polish finish. [via meyerhoffer]
