The Axis Viana Hotel By VHM
Dec 19, 2009 - By Jeffrey Hyatt
Located between the River Lima and Mount St. Luziain in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, behold the mighty impressive Axis Viana Hotel, a bold, contemporary design by Jorge Albuquerque, of the Portuguese firm VHM.
The overlapping, stacked sections of the modern black building delivers an assortment of delightful views of northern Portugal. Built with materials like glass, aluminum and stone, the two lower levels are secured in a concrete framework, while the rest of the stacked boxes are resolved in a steel structure sitting on top of it.
