The Cassette Tape Closet By Creative Barn
By Jeffrey Hyatt
If I’d known Dutch designer Patrick Schuur (Creative Barn) was making a cassette tape closet, I would’ve happily offered some from my collection; Bryan Adams’ Reckless, anyone? The awesome, DIY closet was built with 918 cassette tapes, each individually screwed onto a wooden frame. Good for an office space divider, or storage closet, the closet features three doors which provide access to huge storage space inside. To store cassette tapes, perhaps.
Why cassette tapes as building material? Because they are “cool, retro and remind people of how good looking technology used to be in the old times.”
Hard to argue with that. [via design milk]
