The Wright Restaurant By Andre Kikoski Architect

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum’s Frank Lloyd Wright–designed building, The Wright has officially opened in the famous museum. Designed by Manhattan-based Andre Kikoski Architect, the 1,600-sq.-ft. restaurant space swoops and curves with blasts of white color; the surfaces and textures are animated by movement to create a fluid aesthetic. The ceiling features The Wright’s signature artwork, a colorful sculpture by British artist Liam Gillick.

The space, designed with a focus on engaging the senses, features a variety of materials: a curvilinear wall of fiber-optic lit walnut, a bar clad in shimmering metalwork, and a sweeping banquette of blue backed by illuminated planes of woven texture. The menu features modern American cuisine for those more interested in the food than the interior design. [via contract]
