Color Of The Year For 2010: Turquoise
By Jeffrey Hyatt
I was unaware there existed a ‘global authority on color,’ but Pantone has apparently been a worldwide color authority for 45 years. With 2010 just around the corner, and design pros everywhere wondering what pigment shall lead them in a New Year of creativity, the company has made its selection for Color of the Year for 2010. And the winner is: Turquoise.
“Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise evokes thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a languorous, effective escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of well-being.”
That’s why Turquoise is your Color of the Year for 2010. For the record, last year’s favored hue was mimosa yellow.
