Tom Ford’s directorial debut, A Single Man, premieres in U.S. theaters Friday. ck/ck has designed a fantastic alternative poster concept for the fashion designer’s stylish, period drama. Writes ck/ck: “Whenever I’m feeling uninspired I like to make movie posters to get my creative juices going again. It always works.” Absolutely.

The deceptively simple poster above does a far superior job of capturing the spirit of "A Single Man" than the offensively straight-washed versions featuring Firth and Moore lying (literally and figuratively) together. I'm smitten with the design and regret that it wasn't used as part of a more accurate marketing campaign for an otherwise wonderful film.
