Summer House In Menorca By Dom Arquitectura

Delighting in the beauty of a contemporary summer house knows no season, specifically when the summer home in question is the Dom Arquitectura project in Menorca, the second largest of the Balearic islands off the coast of Spain. Inspired by Menorca’s “tanca” architecture, the design is organized on a frame that is fully passable and based on an orthogonal blueprint; this design methodology encompasses the floors, water, trees, plants, tanca, walls and the house itself.
The main hall, with two large openings on each side, operates as a mixed external-internal passageway. There are also sliding wooden slats that offset the pure, white walls that define the residence. Most of the openings are floor to ceiling, allowing for greater continuity to the landscape and magnificent views. The small, wooden terrace, nighttime lighting and simple pool adds nicely to such a wonderful destination – summer, winter, spring or fall. [via coolboom]
