The Artikcar Lights Up Four-Wheel Biking

Inspired by a child’s wooden toy car, UK designer Ben Wilson’s Artikcar Bike would certainly cut a fine figure on any street – especially at night. This quite mobile work of art is a four-wheeled recumbent-style bike made from steel tubing; it steers by leaning and uses an innovative technology to illuminate the bike via its neon frame.
The Bubblicious-ly bright orange neon that outlines the rider profile provides a stylish flare and bike safety; it’s a definite upgrade from the old-school bicycle safety lights. Pedal-powered and seemingly drawn with a glow stick, the Artikcar looks like a joy to ride. Wilson’s Artikcar Bike was designed for Walk the Plank’s illuminated Art Car Parades, which starts Nov. 26 in Manchester, UK. [via TrendsNow]
