New Takes on Tea Make a Better Brew
By Jared Newman
When you’re ready to graduate from the basic kettle of water and infuser, consider three new teapot designs from Yuki Hirayama, Vuk Dragovic and Alek Shnayder. Hirayama’s Fall, pictured above, includes a strainer that you drop into the kettle from above. The kettle then changes color depending on brewing strength. The Dione Tea Set, from Dragovic, consists of two hemispheres on each globe, with mesh dividing the two. Put the tea leaves right into the water, then flip the globe to strain when the brew is ready. Shnayder’s Brew Spout is a little different, heating water in the base of the device and serving tea for one, thus saving the energy of brewing an entire kettle. All designs are for advanced tea drinkers who cannot stand pre-packaged tea bags. More pictures after the jump. [via Vidafine]
