Air Chair Puts the Park Bench to Shame

Approach the Air from afar, and you might think it to be an ordinary bench. But imagine your surprise when you sit, and the chair curves gently to give you a feel of weightlessness. That’s the idea from designer Daniel Garcia Sanchez, whose creation won first prize at Manifesto Up Argentina. He says the chair “seeks to surprise through everyday fun and personal pleasure,” encouraging users to interact with it and avoid “uniformity and decorative rigidity.” Unfortunately, we don’t know what material provides what sounds like such a wonderful seating experience, but there’s no information on commercial availability either.
