UNIT Shopping Cart, For the Bored and Lazy
By Jared Newman
Are you the kind of shopper that can’t stand a normal stroll down the aisle, and would push the cart and then step onto its rear axle for a ride? Maybe what you really need is the UNIT, an automatic cart concept with a unique approach to shopping. Each one would have a built-in navigator for finding the item you want. You then zip through the aisles on electric power, dodging old ladies and children to reach your destination. Once there, rotate the cart’s storage compartment to bring up an empty slot, allowing you to deposit goods without straining your back. Sure, it’d be a lawsuit waiting to happen in real life, but as a concept it looks like great fun. [via The Design Blog]
