It seems odd that, in an age of such wonderful technology, most of us maintain the leaves in our yard with a simple rake or an electric blower. The Power Rake concept from Rury Vizcarra works differently, rolling along like a mower and snatching up leaves with rake-like teeth. However, unlike most of today’s mowers, which run on a gasoline engine, the Power Rake gets all its energy from the motion of the front wheels, powering a conveyor belt that moves the leaves into an attached bag. A teeth-release system prevents clogging, and there’s even an adjustable handle to accommodate yard workers of all sizes. And no motor means no noise to anger your neighbors, should this concept ever become reality. [via Yanko Design]
