Oriented so as not to gaze upon neighboring houses, the windowed “eyes” of House Bierings instead take in the dynamic countryside of the Netherlands. Designed by Rocha Tombal Architects, the Utrecht home is well-lit thanks to roof and façade openings and gleaming white walls and floors. Visitors enter the house through a pivoted door that leads to central hallway and the kitchen, the core of the home. A simple staircase leads upstairs to the living areas and an attic space with a large, rectangular window that frames the landscape like a painting on the home’s gleaming, gallery-like walls.
