Some Shine Solar Charger Doubles as Curtain
By Jared Newman
The Some Shine Solar Energy Storage System fulfills three important criteria for design: Easy to understand, easy to use and highly desirable. Designed by Ming-Ching-Hsueh, the system rolls into a curtain by day, collecting energy from the sun. By night, the module the bottom is detached, and used as a charger for your USB devices, eliminating the need for that surge protector next to your bed. Sure, you might want that curtain rolled up to let natural light into the room, but you’re saving energy either way. There’s nothing tacky about solar panels — no one will question your green-mindedness, after all — but it never hurts to throw in a little style for good measure. [via Yanko Design]
