Tephra Formations, for Volcanic Seating

While most furniture is neat, orderly and symmetrical, Studio Robert Stadler’s Tephra Formations take the irregular shapes of volcanic discharge. Tephra Formations, derived from the Greek word for “ash,” look as though they oozed down a great mountain and solidified, particularly the “Irregular Bomb,” which combines several seating types into one free-flowing sofa. Also included in the line are an armchair, a pouf and a low-table. All pieces are wrapped in black leather with tufted details, providing more comfort than, say, a pile of ash. The only question is how to arrange such explosive furniture in your home. Probably near the obsidian table. [via Yanko Design]
