Solen Parabolic Cooker Heats With Solar
Sep 24, 2009 - By Jared Newman
Inevitably, cooking generates waste, but the Solen Parabolic Cooker concept would keep waste to a minimum. Instead of burning liquid gas or wood, the cooker uses solar energy to heat up a stockpile of oil, which is then stashed in an insulated tank that keeps the oil warm for days. Valves control the movement of oil inside the Solen’s pipes, thus controlling the heat of cooker. There’s a stovetop for heating pots and pans of food, or an oven for baking. As an added convenience, the Solen cooker includes a fold-out table, so you’ll never have to eat on the floor as you wander in the wilderness. [via Tuvie]
