Visionaire 57 Goes Smart, Plugs In

Art magazine Visionaire has always been more about the presentation than the content within (see the “Taste” issue that includes taste film technology, and the “World” issue delivered in a corduroy GAP bag), and the 2010 issue is no different. Using a plug that’s shaped like Daimler’s tiny Smart automobiles, the publication becomes electric. Assembled by 52 museum curators, Visionaire 2010 includes 365 works of art, with not only traditional artists, but actors such as Natalie Portman and Tilda Swinton along with fashion designers and architects. Smart’s fortwo electric drive, which has been in testing since 2007 and could hit the market next year. Visionaire 2010, of which there will be only 4,000 copies, will cost $295 in October.
