Pulling paper from its comfortable role as the backdrop for various forms of art, the “Slash: Paper Under The Knife” exhibit throws it to the forefront, making it the medium of various captivating pieces. The exhibit is set to appear at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York and will run from October 7, 2009 to April 4, 2010. Cut and slashed paper art of all forms will be the theme and the exhibit will include submissions from 50 individual artists, 12 of which will be crafted live at the museum to give visitors a closer look at the making of such art. The exhibit is the third in the museum’s materials and processes series, which formerly displayed knitting and embroidery. [via Design Boom]
