The power of science is the process rather than the result, a principle architecturally illustrated with a new concept for a University in Brazil. Winning a contest to design the new Exploratory Science Museum at the State University of Campinas, Dani Hirano, Daniel Corsi and Reinaldo Nishimuro of CHN Arquitetos conceived a cantilevered complex from steel, glass and concrete with fractal-like perforations and a mother-ship entrance ramp. Inside, the museum design encourages learning, teamwork and information sharing in a space that works as a public exhibition of exciting science work and a working lab where students and researchers can explore and interact.
