Two-story Twofold House In Bergen, Norway

With views of Norway’s southern fjords and its westernmost archipelago, the twofold house in Bergen in among the best. The house faces south towards the ocean with a facade that bears a balcony cantilevered atop three steel poles. The house is clad in a darkly stained wood that contrasts with the naturally finished wood used between windows. The lack of neighboring homes let architects at Saunders design the house to use as much glass as possible. The master suite is on the second story, while the owner’s college-aged children use the ground floor of the house, which is also home to a small guest studio.
