North Star: Canada’s Compass Point House

Marking the map in Whistler, the Compass Pointe House represents a needle-sharp contemporary concept oriented with directions given by its natural surroundings. Created by Sean Anderson with Progressive Design Concept with interior spaces courtesy Vancouver designer and HGTV host Kelly Deck, the recently completed mountain home has warm cedar siding and blue stone cladding the exterior and indoor spaces marked with a walls made from sandblasted fir and stone quarried on Haddington Island. Heated floor tiles and a steel fireplace provide interior warmth, a design theme echoed in exposed beams and a modern-but-cozy wine cellar. [contemporist]
