Black and White

Some would argue that a designer’s greatest triumph comes in injecting personal vision into a mundane piece of everyday life, turning it into something truly unique and captivating. Such is the case with the Black and White clock by Vadim Kibardin. We’ve all seen the LCD clock to the point that it disappears into the background until we truly need the time.   And yet, this design immediately focuses the eyes by performing something so simple as dropping the case and pulling the numbers into three-dimensional space. Familiar, but brand new. Each OLED number is powered and controlled individually. Light sensors automatically adjust from white to black depending upon the time of day. [via Core 77]
