Audi Bosendorfer 09 Audi Celebrates 100 Years, Builds a Piano

Audi doesn’t dabble much outside the field of automobiles, but to celebrate its 100th birthday, the company let its designers have a go at the classic baby grand piano. In modifying the classic design from Bösendorfer, Audi kept the acoustics intact — for good reason — only adding some smooth black curves and futuristic metal frames, which scream more “metal anthem” than “classical concierto.” The piano will debut at the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt on July 16, and will sell for roughly $140,000 after that. Of course, if I worked at Audi and had a celebratory design budget, a piano probably isn’t the first thing I’d look to. I’m thinking more along the lines of a jetpack. [AutoBlog via DVice]
