Albatross Avenue House Has Golden Gold Coast Views

Open to the world with expansive Gold Coast beaches on one side and protective of private pool and entertaining on another, Australia’s Albatross Avenue House is perfectly balanced for a growing family who regularly entertains and hosts guests. The front entrance of the home, designed by Bayden Goddard Architects, is framed with recycled timber and a covered walkway grants access to both wings of the house. The guest quarters are stationed on the street-front wing and are linked to the bar and game/media room with a staircase. A central courtyard is outlined by a wide, glazed hallway, which helps guide traffic through the home’s core. The second story gives bedrooms beach views and a sandstone-tiled balcony runs the entire length of the eastern facade. [via contemporist]
