All-In-One, Fold-Up Kitchen

If you’ve ever had the displeasure of cooking in a “kitchenette”, then you can appreciate just how valuable kitchen space really is. What happens if one takes the entire kitchen, folds it up into a box and throws it into a different household space altogether? That’s what design students at the French school Ensci have sought to answer with this Modern Space Saving Mini Kitchen. Kitchen appliances, including range and sink, prep areas and storage are compacted into one, simple piece of furniture. When you’re finished dinner, fold the Mini Kitchen up and it becomes a surface that can be used for other tasks such as writing, laptop browsing, or from the looks of it–beer pong. There’s no mention of a refrigerator,  dishwasher or microwave, or how any of it would be hooked up, so the designers still have some work to do. However, they could be on to something.
