California Hilltop Home Has Great Views, Green Tech
By Joe Wertz
Perched above its Rancho Santa Fe setting, the Hilltop House has 360-degree views of the surrounding San Diego suburbs. Designed by architects at Safdie-Rabines and built on a gated two-acre lot, the 10,000 square-foot home was outfitted with energy saving green technology that uses passive solar heating and hydronic radiant floors to keep warm in winter. The six-bed/eight-bath home has an office tower, library, media room, several terraces and a six-car garage. Pocket doors slide to reveal a travertine patio space and outdoor water features including a pool and spa. [via momoy]
