Built as a suburban Connecticut pool house, the 1,200 square-foot space designed by Hariri & Hariri Architecture could easily serve as a cozy contemporary home on its own. The New York-based architects built the house around the pool, creating an angular archway that runs the entire length of the lap pool, shading swimmers and providing a covered patio space perfect for summer dining. A spa area with a hot tub and indoor and outdoor showers occupies one end of the pool area. The home, which was built with natural stone and Brazilian Walnut, is focused on entertainment and features a bar, kitchen, bathroom and small terraces. [via digsdigs]
