Though most of the Monday buzz at Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference was stirred by the announcement of the new iPhone 3GS, the always-sharp eyes over at Techcrunch decided to more closely examine a “pulsating” wall canvas. The large lattice of Cinema Displays hosted thousands of icons representing many of the 50,000 iPhone Apps, all arranged in a gradient by color. Though not quite real-time, the display was engineered so that when an app was purchased, its icon would pulse and quiver like a software stone in a digital pond. [via core77 and techcrunch]
