Iconography: Apple’s App Wall Pulsates At WWDC
By Joe WertzThough most of the Monday buzz at Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference was stirred by the announcement of the new iPhone 3GS, the always-sharp eyes over at Techcrunch decided to more closely examine a “pulsating” wall canvas. The large lattice of Cinema Displays hosted thousands of icons representing many of the 50,000 iPhone Apps, all arranged in a gradient by color. Though not quite real-time, the display was engineered so that when an app was purchased, its icon would pulse and quiver like a software stone in a digital pond. [via core77 and techcrunch]
