The beauty of mankind’s mark can’t truly be appreciated from a human’s perspective. To see it all, acclaimed aerial photographer Jason Hawkes rises above, and he recently shared 26 of his favorite shots with boston.com’s Big Picture photo blog. Through the lens of the London-based photographer’s Nikon D3, humans are tiny, yet significant. Occasionally dotting the frame, grain-like men, women and kids work and play and among the beautiful, repeating patterns their lives leave on the planet. Hawkes snapped these photos from a helicopter high above scenes unnoticeable from street-level views throughout France, Las Vegas, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. [via porhomme]
