Beverly Skyline Residence By Bercy Chen
By Joe Wertz
The Beverly Skyline Residence project started as a “modest” remodel of a 1970’s home. Architects at Bercy Chen Studio worked to use as much recycled and re-purposed material as possible. The Central Texas home’s front façade is made from recycled glass blocks and collected rainwater is rerouted to cascading ponds and streams surrounding the home. To make appropriate use of the steep lot, architects drew upon the design of a 7th-century Japanese temple, which provides panoramic views of the nearby city.
