For one of the most renowned architects in history, Frank Lloyd Wright’s homes are surprisingly within reach, provided you’ve got the means. Perhaps today’s luxury lifestyles demand McMansions over stylish design, but it’d be a shame to lose some of these beautiful houses. Thanks to the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy, it’s easy to find Wright homes on the market. Here are 10 of our favorites:

The Harriet and Randall Fawcett Residence (1961)

One of Wright’s “Usonian” homes that does away with attics and basements, the Fawcett residence would make an ideal private retreat or arts center. A 12-foot fireplace anchors the living room, dubbed the “spiritual center of the house.” It sits on an impressive 80 acres of land, with a separate studio that supports a swimming pool, Japanese garden, Koi pond, aviary and workshop. [Los Banos, Calif., $2,395,000]

A.W. Gridley Residence (1906)

This five bedroom, three full and three half bathroom residence is one of Wright’s most spacious prairie homes. Three roman fireplaces accommodate those seeking relaxing evenings, while a new media room and game room entertains, combining modern comforts with classic architecture. [Charles City, Iowa, $1,575,000]

Gladys and David Wright Residence (1951)

Indeed, Wright’s son David was the original and sole owner of this never before on the market house, constructed as a solid circle with a ramp spiraling up to the entrance. Full views of Camelback Mountain complement block and wood elements, with ambient lighting, concrete floors and storage components. Wright even designed an area rug, table and four chairs included with the home. [Phoenix, Ariz., $3,500,000]

The Millard House (“La Miniatura”) (1923)

The most expensive listing by the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy is also recognized as the earliest “Usonian” house, and the first to implement Wright’s textile block building system. Coming off a multi-year restoration, the Millard House has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and two kitchens. Located in Pasadena’s Prospect Historic District, this important architectural work is surrounded by an acre of gardens. [Pasadena, Calif., $7,733,000]

R.W. Lindholm Residence (1952)

Octagonal bays with high-pitched roofs surround a rectangular core, with influece of Louis Sullivan’s “geometric simplification” philosophy present as well. An expanded kitchen and master bathroom were designed to blend with the original design. [Oak Park, Ill., $1,295,000]

You can add Ennis House in Los Angeles to the list. The Foundation that maintains is can't raise the cash to complete its restoration, so they're hoping a rich FLW lover can save the building.

For me it would be Gertz Bridge Cottage because it is in Michigan. I know and love the area so much that it would have to be my choice. If they asked "most beautiful" then I'd have to come up with another answer.

I have to say I don't really like any of them, though I voted for the Millard House. It's the least Arts & Crafts, the least craft-y, the least hobbity. Wright was probably a genius with space and light, and it's great that he tried to leave behind the dark Victorian styles of his day, but somehow I find his houses equally heavy. All those obsessive, skinny horizontal rectangles, the fussy stained glass… it's a very particular aesthetic. He talks about local landscape but to me all these styles, and you can include the Stickley-style furniture in this, look particularly English.

It's not a house, but the FLW building I'd personally most like to have complete use of would have to be Unity Temple in Oak Park, IL.

Falling Water has to be the most beautiful of his houses. Not just the setting but the interior also puts it above the others.
