Yakuza Lou, The Origami Garden by Eddy Sykes
By AlexIonHow about mixing a dash of mechanics, a touch of robotics and a stroke of Origami design to create a living mechanical garden? In his outdoor gallery space in Los Angeles, eccentric and audacious designer Eddy Sykes came up with these dexterous and dazzling forms by matching the perfect blend of angles and triangles. Seen as a natural balance between nature and mechanics, his Origami garden features a geodesic dome with colored and grass-filled facets that swings to the movement of the man-made cloud hanging above. Something that we could well call art, “Yakuza Lou” definitely challenges our image of Origami being just fancy paper patterns. Video of the garden in action after the jump… [via chersonprom]
