Rocky Hvaler Island Retreat

Atop a rustic, un-cultivated hill in Norway is a sparse vacation retreat built with panoramic windows and a minimal, open feel to fully absorb the home’s ocean view. Completed in 2006, the Hvaler Island home was designed by Oslo’s Reiulf Ramstad Architects. Resting on a small peninsula, the house was largely constructed from wood that will slowly develop a gray patina and fade into the natural, rocky colors of the home’s setting. [via archdaily]
